Description
Solvent free epoxy tar with excellent chemical resistance.
Uses
A highly chemical resistant epoxy coating used in the lining of storage
tanks, sewerage plants, effluent sumps and pumps and as a coating on steelwork,
machinery, piping, concrete structures, floors and woodwork, to protect against
attack by corrosive chemicals and gases; mixed with aggregate for road paving.

Resistance
Good resistance to fumes, splashes and spillages of most inorganic acids at
various concentrations. Resists alkali’s such Sodium Hydroxide and ammonia.
Resists Hydrocarbon fuels and oils. Contact the Technical Department for
specific resistance information.
Preparation
All surfaces to be clean, dry and sound in accordance with Ivory Surface
Preparation specification for the substrate to be coated. Abraded surfaces
improve adhesion. Holes in concrete substrates to be filled with an epoxy putty
or mortar. Holes in wood or steel to be filled with Ivory 319. Blasted steel
surfaces to be primed with Ivory 366. Mechanically prepared surfaces to be
primed with Ivory Ivomastic.
Specification
All surfaces to be prepared and coated with two coats of Ivory 310 High
Build Epoxy Tar all in accordance with manufacturer’s detailed instructions.
Application
Stir the contents of the two containers well. Using volumes strictly in
accordance with the given mixing ratio, mix the contents of the two containers
together for 5 minutes using a flat piece of wood or spatula. On areas
continuously wet or where fats, oils or grease are present, a non slip surface
can be provided by sprinkling an amount of Ivory Non Slip Aggregate to the
uncured primer or first coat. Before over coating, sweep off excess aggregate
with a stiff nylon broom. Should over 18 hours have elapsed between coats,
abrade the surface and wipe with Ivory Epoxy Thinners. If the material is left
in the container it will become unusable within half an hour. Do not apply if
relative humidity
exceeds 85%.
