| MIXING
PROCEDURE |
| |
Sikadur
31 can either be mixed by hand (in small quantities, i.e.
1 litre) or by mechanical
mixing.
Mix both components thoroughly before use. Proportion equal amounts BY VOLUME
of BOTH components into a suitable, clean mixing container. Depending on the
volume, mix thoroughly using a large steel spatula or a slow speed drill (set
at 400 - 600 rpm) with a clean, rust free, mixing paddle until the two components
are evenly blended to a uniform
colour (minimum 3 minutes).
Only mix sufficient material that can be readily
used within its pot life. |
| |
| APPLICATION |
| |
| Bonding
and concrete repairs |
| |
Apply
Sikadur 31 to the prepared substrate by trowel, spatula or
a stiff brush. Ensure that it is worked into the surface,
especially if the surface is damp. Secure the material or
unit to be bonded to the substrate while the Sikadur 31 is
still tacky. Take into consideration the ambient and surface
conditions in relation to the “Open Times” given in the technical
data. The
glue line should be kept as thin as possible (minimum thickness 1mm)
and must not
exceed 5 mm.
If the Sikadur 31 loses tackiness and becomes glossy, recoat with additional
material and
continue. |
| |
| Horizontal
and overhead anchor bolt
grouting |
| |
| The
correct quantity of Sikadur 31 required to completely fill
the annular gap between the bolt and the sides of the hole
should be determined before installation is attempted. (In
most cases, the bolt hole will be no greater than 5 mm larger
in diameter than the bolt.) Place the predetermined quantity
of Sikadur 31 directly into the bolt hole. Push the anchor
bolt into the hole and press it gently to the bottom, displacing
the Sikadur 31 and filling the anulus around the bolt. A
slight agitation of the bolt will assist the Sikadur 31 to
fill the anulus evenly. Centre or locate the bolt in the
desired position, using shims if necessary and then leave
undisturbed
until the Sikadur 31 is tack free. |
| |
| |
| |
| LIMITATIONS |
| |
| Ambient
and surface temperatures must be 5°C
or above during application. |
| |
