| Substrate Quality | Clean, sound & dry. | |||||||||||||||||||||
| Substrate Preparation / Priming | All surfaces must be clean, sound and properly cured. Remove
all loose materials mechanically, with a wire brush, or by water or sand
blasting. The substrate need not be completely dry. While residual moisture does not affect Sikagard 703 W, the drier the substrate the better the penetration and subsequent protection. |
|||||||||||||||||||||
| Application Conditions / Limits | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| Substrate Temperature | Min. 5°C – max. 30°C. | |||||||||||||||||||||
| Ambient Temperature | Min. 5°C – max. 35°C. | |||||||||||||||||||||
| Substrate Humidity | < 10% | |||||||||||||||||||||
| Relative Air Humidity | 80% | |||||||||||||||||||||
| Dew Point | Substrate temperature must always be at least 3°C above the measured dew point. | |||||||||||||||||||||
| Application Instructions | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| Application Method / Tools | Sikagard 703 W is supplied ready for use. Sikagard 703 W is applied in even layers from the bottom upward taking care not to let the product run. Apply Sikagard 703 W evenly and liberally by spray, roller or brush. A preliminary site test application is recommended to determine effective coverage and performance. When spraying, it is advisable to use hand-pressure equipment, such as a knapsack sprayer, rather than compressed air driven. Optimum effectiveness is reached after a few days. |

| Substrate Quality | The
cementitious substrate should be sound and of sufficient strength (min. 25 N/mm²). Minimum pull-off strength 1.5 N/mm². Free from grease, oil and contaminants. On young concrete slabs, cementitious screeds or damp substrates ( > 4% moisture) use Sikafloor®-EpoCem. |
|||||||||||||||||||||
| Substrate Preparation | All
dust, loose and friable materials and glaze or varnish of tiles must
be completely removed by mechanical means. Existing coatings have to be inspected, cleaned and mechanically ground to achieve a sound, gripping substrate. In case of bad adhesion to the substrate, existing coatings have to be removed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||
| Cleaning of Tools | Use Kwiklean water-soluble solvent to clean all application tools immediately after use. | |||||||||||||||||||||
| Notes on Application / Limits | Do not use on natural stone without prior
testing. Not intended for waterproofing under hydrostatic pressure. The substrate can be slightly damp. All cement based substrates (mortar, concrete) must be at least 7 days old The surface must be clean and free of lichens and fungi Protect glass surfaces and aluminium frames. Protect from rain until dry. The water-repellents effect is not as effective on horizontal surfaces subject to ponding. Water-repellence is reduced significantly when the substrate is heavily cracked Do not allow to go down drains, waterways, or into the soil. |
