| Instructions for Use | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
| SURFACE PREPARATION | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Concrete
surfaces must be clean, sound and free from oil, grease, cement laitance
and all loosely adhering particles. Metal surfaces (i.e. iron and steel
should be free from scale, rust,
oil and grease. All surfaces should be brought to a saturated surface dry condition by presoaking with clean water for several hours before grouting. Remove any excess water just prior to placing the grout. Bolt holes must be blown clear of dust and other debris, and anchor bolts must be degreased with a suitable solvent such as Kwiklean water soluble solvent based cleaning compound. (see corresponding Technical Data Sheet). |
||||||||||||||||||||||||
| FORMING | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
| For “Fluid” and “Flowable” consistencies always ensure that formwork is grout tight and that sufficient hydrostatic head (see Table 1) is available to complete the grouting operation in one application. Formwork can be sealed with Sikacryl (see corresponding Technical Data Sheet) as shown in Diagram 1. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Table 1: | Approximate Maximum Flow Distances for “Flowable”SikaGrout 212: | |||||||||||||||||||||||
|
||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Sika Grout 212 can only be pumped in the “Fluid” and “Flowable” consistencies.For external applications, protect from rain until initial set has been achieved. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Anchor Bolt Grouting | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
| The
correct quantity of Sika Grout 212 required to completely fill the
annular gap between the bolt and the sides of the hole should be determined
before installation is attempted. (In most cases, the bolt hole should
be no greater than 15 mm larger in
diameter than the bolt.) Place the pre-determined quantity of Sika Grout 212 directly into the bolt hole. Push the anchor bolt into the hole and press it gently to the bottom, displacing the Sika Grout 212 and filling the annulus around the bolt. A slight agitation of the bolt will assist the Sika Grout 212 to fill the annulus evenly. Centre or locate the bolt in the desired position, using shims if necessary, and then leave undisturbed until the Sika Grout 212 has set. If the Sika Grout 212 does not fill the annular gap evenly during bolt insertion, withdraw the bolt and insert additional Sika Grout 212 and re-insert the bolt. DO not attempt to add additional Sika Grout 212 with the bolt in place. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||
| CURING | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
| The use of standard concrete curing techniques, such as light water fogging for 72 hours or the application of a suitable water based curing compound is recommended on all exposed surfaces of Sika Grout 212. Do not commence fogging until initial set has been reached. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
| LIMITATIONS | ||||||||||||||||||||||||

| Minimum thickness: | 10mm 6mm (for anchor bolt grouting) |
|||||||||||||||||||||||
| Maximum thickness: | 100
mm (unfilled) 200 mm (filled) |
