DULUX SILTHANE SILK ENAMEL

PRODUCT BENEFITS

Non-yellowing silk finish with a luxury smooth feel. The Silthane resin system resists the chemical yellowing of enamels.

All surface interior finish: DULUX SILTHANE SILK is an all surface finish for interior walls, trim, woodwork and metal. It simplifies painting because you only need one kind of paint for walls and doors.

Low gloss sheen: DULUX SILTHANE SILK has a subtle low gloss sheen that gives a deeper more beautiful finish - a new modern look in South African homes, hotels and offices.

Toughness: Because of it's silicone-urethane resin formulation, DULUX SILTHANE SILK is twice as resistant to marring and scratching relative to the best alkyd eggshell enamels and PVA's. DULUX SILTHANE SILK hardens like a baked enamel and even feels like one.

DULUX SILTHANE SILK is based on worldwide patented resin technology. The SILTHANE formulation combines urethane resin with silicone - better than any top quality alkyd enamel and better than polyurethane alone.

USES

DULUX SILTHANE SILK is ideally suited to meet the most exacting decorative and performance requirements in homes, hotels, flats, schools, churches, showrooms, restaurants and offices. DULUX SILTHANE SILK brilliant white will brighten the most badly discoloured or yellowed wall and ceiling surfaces. It goes on white and stays white even in the presence of many industrial and household fumes. Where discolouration occurs as a result of nicotine or kitchen fats, the affected surface may be washed with a diluted solution of bleach to remove the stains.

COLOUR RANGE

Brilliant White and range of colours via Matchmaker.

APPLICATION

Brush or roller : Ready for use. If thinning is required, use Mineral Turpentine. Do not exceed 5 % by volume. Experience has shown that a short nap roller gives the best results.
Conventional Spray: Thin 10 - 20% with mineral turpentine.
Clean up : Mineral Turpentine or FIXIT BRUSH CLEANER/DEGREASER.

SURFACE PREPARATION

NEW WORK

Wooden Surfaces

Apply DULUX UNDERCOAT FOR ALL SURFACES prior to the application of DULUX SILTHANE SILK ENAMEL.

Cement Surfaces

Cement surfaces must be clean and dry before painting and primed with one coat DULUX PRIMER FOR NEW PLASTER. Follow with one coat of DULUX UNDERCOAT FOR ALL SURFACES and then SILTHANE SILK ENAMEL.

Hardboards (Masonite)

Prime with one coat of DULUX PRIMER FOR NEW PLASTER. Follow with one coat of DULUX UNDERCOAT FOR ALL SURFACES before applying DULUX SILTHANE SILK.

PREVIOUSLY PAINTED SURFACES

Surfaces must be in completely sound condition. Loose flaking paint must be completely removed and bare areas spot primed with an appropriate primer. Build up bare patches with DULUX UNDERCOAT FOR ALL SURFACES to the same level as the rest of the paint work before finishing with a coat of DULUX SILTHANE SILK.

PRECAUTIONS

For detailed safety information refer to the material safety data sheet for this product.

Surfaces should not be painted in wet or damp weather.

Very cold conditions will lengthen the drying time.

Do not apply to bare metal surfaces.
