Isocrete Aqualock
Surface Damp Proof Membrane |
DESCRIPTION Aqualock A two coat solvent and water free epoxy resin liquid applied surface damp proof membrane designed to withstand moisture pressure from substrates of up to 100% Relative Humidity.
Aqualock One Coat A single coat solvent and water free, epoxy resin, liquid applied surface damp proof membrane designed to withstand moisture pressure from
substrates of up to 90% Relative Humidity.
Aqualock Plus A two coat solvent and water free, epoxy resin, liquid applied surface damp proof membrane. Finished with Isocrete 1500 to provide a surface
ready to directly receive floor finishes.
Fast cure grades of the above are available if required for very fast track refurbishment projects.
Can be used in combination with Aqualock Adhesive (see separate datasheet) for the rapid installation of rubber flooring on
damp concrete bases.
|
USES Aqua lock Allows immediate installation of moisture sensitive floor finishes onto concrete and cementitious screeds which have o moisture content of up to
100% Relative Humidity.
Aqualock One Coat
Allows immediate installation of moisture sensitive floor finishes onto concrete and cementitious screeds which have a moisture content of up to
90% Relative Humidity.
Aqualock Plus
Allows immediate installation of moisture sensitive floor finishes onto concrete and screeds which have a moisture content of up to 1 00% Relative
Humidity. The Isocrete1500 leveling screed is suitable to receive mostfloor finishes, such as vinyl, carpet, rubber, tiles, timber and similar.
|
BENEFITS
• Reduces project timescale. Allows early installation of floor finishes. • Impervious to water. • Excellent adhesion to concretes and screeds. • Tolerates up to 100% Relative Humidity in the concrete or screed substrate. • Easy to apply. • Solvent free, low odour. • Excellent gap filling properties. • Contrasting colour coats allows for visual control of the Aqualock membrane uniformity in laying.
• The Aqualock System can be used for either, heavy duty industrial or medium to light duty commercial applications. • With Aqualock Plus, Isocrete 1500 high strength (30 N/mm2) leveling screed the entire floor construction is available from one supplier.

SURFACE PREPARATION Either by totally enclosed shot blasting or light scarification. Edges completed by vacuum controlled hand tools. All residues must be removed
to provide a dust free, open textured surface with exposed aggregates. The substrate should be surface dry before application of the Aqualock
resin.

APPLICATION
Aqualock & Aqualock Plus Apply the first coat (red) by squeegee and roller at a coverage of 0.28kg/rn2 and allow to cure to a tack free condition (7-1 5 hours, dependent
on temperature).
Within 24 hours of the first coat, apply the second coat (yellow) by squeegee and roller at a coverage of 0.22kg/rn2. Broadcast to full cover over
the wet Aqualock with 0.2 to 0.4mm dry Silica Sand (coverage approx 2kg/rn2) and allow to cure overnight.
If a resin topping or coating is to be applied within 24 hours of the second coat of Aqualock the sand scatter may be omitted. If Isocrete 1500 is
used to level prior to a floor finish, then Isocrete Primer should be used.
Aqualock One Coat
Apply Aqualock One Coat by squeegee and roller ensuring an even coating at a coverage rate of 0.33kg/rn2. Broadcast to full cover over the wet
Aqualock One Coat with 0.2 to 0.4mm dry silica sand and allow to cure overnight.
Note: It is essential that the coverage of 0.33kg/rn2 is maintained
and that there are no pinholes in this single coat application.
lsocrete.
Light Duty Areas
For light duty areas, the Isocrete 1500 can be applied onto the unsanded
Aqualock using Isocrete Primer.
|
MIXING All Systems Pour total Hardener B into Base A container and drain thoroughly. Ensure that the materials are properly mixed using a slow speed industrial
hand drill and helical spinner.
|
PROTECTION ON COMPLETION All Systems Protect the installed membrane from other trades prior to the floor covering application. It can be desirable to leave the excess sand on the s
urface as protection until the final covering is applied. Excess sand must be fully removed and the floor vacuumed before application of the
underlayment.
|
OVERLAYING Semi dry thick section cementitious screeds may be laid directly into the wet second coat of Aqua lock. Prior to bonding floor coverings such as carpet and vinyl, Isocrete 1500 or a latex underlayment such as Isotex is normally applied. For direct bonding to Aqualock, the adhesive manufacturer should be consulted to determine if a sanded or unsanded finish is required.
|
COLOURS Aqualock and Aqualock Plus. Supplied in two colours, red for the first coot and yellow for the second coat.
|
TEMPERATURE Aqualock should not be applied at material or floor temperatures below 10°C. Temperatures should not fall below 5°C in the 24 hours after
application.
|
TOOL CLEANING
Clean with Flowsolve Cleaner before the product has cured. |
HANDLING & STORAGE Stored unopened in dry conditions at 10-25°C, shelf life will be 12 months minimum.
