Thixotropic Liquid Epoxy Adhesive & Laminating Resin
PRODUCT DATA SHEET
Description
A solvent free, adhesion promoted medium viscosity epoxy laminating resin
and adhesive for cold moulding. Non-drip thixotropic epoxy for vertical
applications.
Uses
Glass fibre sheathing of wooden hulls. An adhesive for cold moulding of
plywood and timber hulls. Construction of glass reinforced fuel and water tanks.
Resistance
Unaffected by continuous immersion in salt and fresh water. Excellent
resistance to osmosis. Unaffected by mineral oils and greases, petroleum and
diesel fuel.
Surface preparation
Any surface to be treated must be clean, dry and sound, and free of any
contamination or old coating materials. Vacuum cleaning and wiping with Ivory
Epoxy Thinners is recommended. Smooth surfaces should be roughened by
appropriate means. Teak or other oily timbers to be thoroughly wiped with
oil-free acetone.
Mixing
Using volumes strictly in accordance with the given ratio mix the two
components together thoroughly until a homogenous material results. Immediately
transfer mixed components into a clean wide bottomed plastic bowl or tray. If a
filled material is required add the filler only after complete mixing of the two
components has taken place.
Application
Apply mixed material to one face, adhered thickly enough to extrude when
both faces are mated. These faces to be kept under compression until the
adhesive layer has set.
Caution
Avoid applications under conditions of high relative humidity (above 85%) or
when the temperature is less than 2°C above the dew point. Store components in a
cool place prior to mixing.
