Flowcem DPM (2 – 4 mm)
PRODUCT DATA SHEET

Description
A 3 component technically advanced epoxy cement self smoothing composite as
a surface damp proof underlayment.
Uses
Allows immediate installation of moisture sensitive floor finishes (such as
epoxy systems, vinyl or wood) onto concrete and cementitious screeds which have
a moisture content of up to 99% Relative Humidity or no underlying damp course
membrane. Levelling and patching uneven screeds or concrete. Also suitable as a
skimming and patching compound.
Benefits
• Excellent adhesion to concrete & screeds.
• Permeable to water vapour
• Tolerates up to 99% relative humidity in the concrete or screed substrate.
• Reduces undulation on substrate
• Chemically and mechanically compatible with concrete chemistry forming
monolithic structure.
• Easy to apply (self smoothing).
• Low odour.
• Excellent resistance to water and oils.
• High mechanical strength

Preparatory work and application in accordance with supplier’s instructions.
The installation should be carried out by a Flowcrete approved applicator.

Installation Service
The installation should be carried out by a Flowcrete approved contractor
with a documented quality assurance scheme. Obtain details of our approved
applicators by contacting our customer service team.
Substrate Requirements
Concrete or screed substrate should be a minimum of 25N/mm², free from
laitance, dust and other contamination. The substrate should be surface dry
before the application of Flowseal EPW primer.
System Performance Guide
The table below shows how well the system complies with different
characteristics.
A scale of 1 – 5 where 5 is the best value.
5 Excellent, 4 Very Good, 3 Good, 2 Fair, 1 Poor
| Fire Safety | 5 | Impermeability | 4 |
| Slip Resistance | 4 | Clean ability | 3 |
| Impact Resistance | 3 | Wear Resistance | 3 |
| Thermal Resistance | 3 | Chemical Resistance | 3 |
| Heavy Traffic | 4 | Moisture tolerant | 5 |
Environmental considerations
The finished system is assessed as non-hazardous to health and the
environment. The long service life and seamless surface reduce the need for
repairs, maintenance and cleaning. Environmental and health considerations are
controlled during manufacture and application of the products by Flowcrete staff
and fully trained and experienced contractors.
Technical Information
The figures that follow are typical properties achieved in laboratory tests
at 20°C
and at 50% Relative Humidity.
| Fire Resistance | BS 476:Part 7 Surface spread of flame: Class 1 (indicative) |
| Temperature Resistance | Tolerant up to 60°C |
| Water Permeability | Nil – Karsten test (impermeable) |
| Compressive Strength | 40 N/mm² (BS 6319) |
| Bond Strength | Greater than cohesive strength of 25 N/mm² concrete. > 1.5 MPa. |
| Toxicity | Taint free to sensitive foodstuffs. |
Speed of Cure
| 10°C | 20°C | 30°C | |
| Light traffic | 24 hrs | 15 hrs | 12 hrs |
| Overcoat | 4 days | 3 days | 2 days |
| Full cure | 12 days | 7 days | 5 days |
Overlaying
Resin floor finishes can be laid directly onto Flowcem DPM. If there is no
sand blind applied to the Flowcem DPM, then the resin floor finish should be
applied within 24 hours of the application of the Flowcem DPM.
Life Expectancy
Flowcem DPM is in practice a permanent membrane to protect final finishes
from moisture related damage for the life of the floor, subject to there being
no structural movement nor failure of the concrete slab, no severe thermal
cycling nor exposure to temperatures above 50°C.
Important Note
Flowcrete’s products are guaranteed against defective materials and
manufacture and are sold subject to its standard Terms and Conditions of Sale,
copies of which can be obtained on request.
