Food Grade Epoxy Lining

PRODUCT DATA SHEET

Description
A solvent free, high build, epoxy coating utilizing resins compliant with the requirements of the FDA regulation 21CFR 175.300 for coatings in contact with food, potable water or alcoholic beverages containing up to 12% alcohol by
volume.

Uses
• Potable water tank linings.
• Brewery tank linings.
• Protection of concrete storage tanks.
• Protection of food storage tanks.

Resistance
Resistant to:
• Mild organic and inorganic acids.
• Deionised water.
• 10% Acetic acid
• 50% Sodium Hydroxide
• Beer and wine

Preparation
• Concrete and plaster surfaces to be clean, sound, laitance and dust free and have a maximum moisture content of 4%. Concrete surfaces to be sweep blasted.

Priming
• Concrete and plaster surfaces, apply Flowprime. Dense concrete may not require priming.
• Grit blasted steel surfaces, apply Ivory 366 Primer.
• G.R.P. laminates - no primer required and Polystyrene - no primer to be used.
• G.R.P. laminates to be thoroughly abraded and wiped with Solvent AB. Steel surfaces to be grit blasted to S.A.2½.
• Where grit blasting is not possible surfaces to be thoroughly wire brushed to remove all loose rust.

Specification
Prepare and prime surfaces and apply two coats of Ivory 340FG all in accordance with the Manufacturers detailed instructions.

Application
Thoroughly mix together only enough product which can be applied in 20 minutes at 20°C. Apply by brush, roller or airless spray, two coats at
4-6m²/ℓ per coat dependant on the surface profile. Should over 36 hours lapse between coats the surface of the previous coating must be abraded with a medium grit abrasive paper and solvent wiped using Flowcrete Epoxy Thinners.
