Polyurethane Enamel Coating
PRODUCT DATA SHEET

Description
A 2K hard wearing, polyurethane coating for masonry, concrete, steel,
timber, G.R.P. structures. Used as a finish coating on floor systems and marine
applications above water level.
Recommended for exterior applications due to durability and non-yellowing
properties.

• Quick drying time – long pot life - can be sprayed.
• Over-coatable.
Resistance
Resistant to spillages of most dilute solutions of acid and alkalis.
Resistant to aliphatic solvents, alcohols and Skydrol.
Not recommended for immersed surfaces.
Preparation
• All surfaces must be clean, sound, laitance
and dust free and have a maximum moisture content of 4%. Concrete surfaces to be
prepared by abrasive blasting or grinding to achieve a profile similar to medium
grit sand paper. The use of Ivory Concrete Etchants should only be considered as
a last resort and should be discussed with the Ivory Technical department as to
the suitability and procedure.
• Steel surfaces to be grit blasted to Sa 2½. Where grit blasting is not
possible surfaces to be thoroughly abraded to remove all loose rust.
Priming
Concrete and plaster surfaces -
Apply Ivory 305 primer
Grit blasted steel surfaces -
Apply Ivory 366 primer
Steel surfaces prepared by wire brushing -
Apply Ivory Ivomastic primer
Application
Thoroughly mix the contents of the Base and Activator together for 5 minutes
using a flat piece of wood or a spatula.
Apply by brush, roller or spray two coats of Ivory 400.
Caution
Ivory 400 contains flammable solvents. Ensure adequate ventilation
and safety precautions during application. Ivory 400 is moisture
sensitive and must not be applied should atmospheric conditions exceed 85%
relative humidity.
Specification
Prepare and prime surfaces and apply two coats of Ivory 400 all in
accordance with the manufacturer's detailed instructions.
