DESCRIPTION
Marleyflex combines the long established effectiveness of a true thru-flash, semi flexible vinyl floor tile, with a range of colours designed to meet the most demanding requirements in terms of tone and shade.
Marleyflex complements any interior design scheme. With its tremendous longlasting characteristics and aesthetics, Marleyflex is singularly suitable for all institutional, commercial, industrial or domestic situations.
COLOURS
The range comprises 21 architectural shades.
UNDERFLOOR HEATING
Marleyflex is suitable for underfloor heating systems. It is, however, important that a screed temperature of 270ºC is not exceeded and it is therefore essential that a control thermostat be incorporated in the screed. The underfloor heating should be switched off for 48 hours prior to, during and 48 hours after the laying of Marleyflex flooring.
FIRE RESISTANCE
Marleyflex has self-extinguishing properties and will not contribute to the spread of flame. Marleyflex has an SABS fire classification rating of Class 1.
CHEMICAL RESISTANCE
The manufacturing process of Marleyflex ensures a natural resistance to attack by most acids, alkalis, common oils, greases and general household chemicals in diluted form. It is however, recommended that the advice of the Marley Technical Department be obtained should this material be subjected to regular contact with chemicals or solvents.
ELECTRICAL PROPERTIES
Marleyflex can be classified as an electrically insulating floor covering.
SUB-FLOORS
Marleyflex tiles are suitable for installation on most types of sub-floors, but in the case of direct to earth concrete, it is essential that a damp-proof membrane is incorporated. Ensure that the sub-floor is completely smooth, level, hard, dry and clean before laying commences. The final appearance and ultimate wearability of the floor covering is governed by the surface upon which it is laid, and care should be taken to ensure that the right foundation is provided.
All sub-floors are to be tested for moisture prior to installation. The Marley Technical Department can offer advice in this regard.
ADHESIVES
Marley No. 60 Acrylic Adhesive is the recommended adhesive for use with Marleyflex and should be applied in accordance with Marley's recommendations.
MAINTENANCE
The newly laid Marleyflex floor should after 72 hours, be scrubbed with a diluted neutral detergent complying with SABS 825 and thoroughly rinsed. Apply three coats of a water-based floor dressing complying to SABS 1042. Marleyflex floors will retain their excellent appearance if an occasional application of floor dressing is applied.
