DESCRIPTION

Marley Tuftred is a patented vinyl/cork based flexible heavy duty floor sheeting formulated to resist a high degree of wear and possessing excellent resistance to in dentation. It is specially processed to provide a smooth, yet non-slip, wear surface.

COLOURS

Marley Tufred is available in a range of six practical colours.

UNDERFLOOR HEATING

Marley Tuftred is suitable for underfloor heating systems. It is however, important that a screed temperature of 27º C is not exceeded and it is therefore essential that a control thermostat be incorporated in the screed. The underfloor heating should be switched off for 48 hours prior to, during and 48 hours after laying Marley Tuftred.

FIRE RESISTANCE

Marley Tuftred has self extinguishing properties and will not contribute to the spread of flame: Marley Tuftred has an SABS fire classification rating of Class 2.

CHEMICAL RESISTANCE

The manufacturing process of Marley Tuftred ensures a natural resistance to attack by most acids and alkali's, common oils, greases and general household chemicals in diluted form. It is, however, recommended that the advice of the Marley Technical Department be obtained should this material be subjected to regular contact with chemicals or solvents.

ELECTRICAL PROPERTIES

Marley Tuftred can be clasified as an electrically insulating floor covering.

SUB-FLOORS

Marley Tuftred is suitable for installation on most types of sub-floors, but in the case of direct earth concrete, it is essential that a damp-proof membrane is incorporated. Ensure that the sub-floor is completely smooth, level, hard, dry and clean before laying commences. The final appearance and ultimate wearability of the floor covering is governed by the surface upon which it is laid and care should be taken to ensure that the right foundation is provided. All sub-floors are to be tested for moisture prior to installation. The Marley Technical Department can offer advice in this regard.

WELDING

Marley Tuftred must immediately after installation be welded with a fully flexible Marley Welding Rod to provide a continuous surface. A colour range of Marley Welding Rod is available to select from.

ADHESIVE

Marley No. 71 Contact Adhesive is recommended for the use with Marley Tuftred, and should be applied in accordance with Marley's recommendations.

MAINTENANCE

The newly laid Marley Tuftred floor must, immediatly after installation, be scrubbed with a diluted neutral detergent compying with SABS 825 and thoroughly rinsed. Apply three coats of water based floor dressing complying to SABS 1042. Marley Tuftred floors will retain their excellent appearance if any occasional application of floor dressing is applied.

SUGGESTED SPECIFICATION

Supply and fix 2.0mm/3.5mm thick x l,0m wide Marley Tuftred vinyl/cork composite floor sheeting, manufactured to specification, adhered with Marley No 71 contact adhesive, applied by means of a brush or paint roller, at a rate of approximately 3,5m² per litre per single application on a previously prepared sub-floor by builder, as described above and elsewhere measured, including all cutting and waste. All joints to be butted, grooved and heat welded ensuring that the Marley Welding Rod bonds to 70% of the sheet thickness. All installations must be rolled in both directions with an articulated 68kg three sectional metal floor roller. Immediately after installation, the Marley Tuftred sheeting must be scrubbed with a diluted neutral detergent complying with SABS 825 and thoroughly rinsed. After the floor has dried completely, apply three coats of a water based floor dressing complying with SABS l042.

Owing to the limitations of colour printing processes and the possible effects of different PC monitor settings, you are advised to see the actual material before ordering.
