Mutual was nominated as a Technology Top 100 Finalist at Gallagher Estate on 29 November 2000.
The MTN Business Day's Technology Top 100 is one of the foremost South African business awards programs identifying 'Technologically Excellent' companies.

The merging of the Presidents Award for Export Achievement and the MTN Business Day Technology Top 100 Awards is based upon the fact that both programs have been profiled to identify role models of organisations and people who, through in genuity and taking advantage of the new dispensation in the country, have successfully positioned their organisations as global players.

By virtue of the similarity and objectives of both the programs - coupled with the fact that to be a prominent export organisation one has to be technologically excellent. The awards acknowledge the achievements of S.A. organisations in technological excellence and export achievement.

Technology

In 2002, the strongest barrier materials have been developed in conjunction with a European partner and are now used in all of Mutual's products. This has resulted in good looking, slim line safes of the very highest strength with added advantage of the lowest possible weights.

Our active research and development division keeps up to date with international trends by our constant exposure at international trade fairs. We are leaders in design and we pride ourselves on our pro-activity in the high risk environment of South Africa today.

Pneumatic Airtube Division

Airtube systems provide rapid, cost effective and efficient movement of a wide range of samples, components, documents and cash weighing up to 15kgs within the tube work. Innovative computerised multi-stationed transfer systems provide secure transportation within buildings and or across entire sites.

This system is ideally suited to the South African high-risk environments in that it facilitates the swift movement of cash from point of sale to a secure cash area thereby greatly reducing the risk of theft and attack.
