PYROPANEL fire rated doorsets are manufactured in Southern Africa by PELICAN M.I.S SYSTEMS under license to PYROPANEL DEVELOPMENTS (PTY) LTD. of Australia

PYROPANEL has done extensive testing and development to British, European, New Zealand and Australian standards and we are now the first South African Company to successfully apply for a permit to apply the SANS mark to our locally manufactured doors. This is significantly different from holding an SANS test report for a particular fire door assembly, which successfully passed a test. Test reports apply specifically to the door assembly that was tested and there are no guarantees that doors manufactured thereafter are made to the same exacting standards as the test door itself.

One of the conditions of being an SANS permit holder requires that SANS representatives randomly select doors from our production line for testing. Due to this fact, we at PELICAN M.I.S SYSTEMS have ensured that each and every door we manufacture is made to the same exacting standards as the doors we have had tested.

This ensures that you, our customer, has absolute peace of mind in the knowledge that every one of our doors is made to the highest quality standards and is guaranteed to do the job they are intend for.

In the seemingly unlikely event of a fire, the quality of the fire doors used in a building can severely impact on the safety of its occupants. It is during these events that products such as fire doors need to perform to specification and cannot be found wanting in any aspect of their design or construction. We therefore strongly advocate that when selecting a fire door for a building application where the safety of people and property is at risk, there should be no compromise.

PYROPANEL fire doorsets can be trimmed at the bottom by up to 20mm to accommodate floor variances.

Due to the fact that PELICAN M.I.S SYSTEMS also manufactures standard timber doors veneers can be matched to ensure consistency of veneers on all doors used in a building.

Product Details

Fire Rated Single Action, Side Hung Doorsets

(1/2, 1, 2, 3, and 4 hr rating) (SANS class A, B, C and D")

Depending on the rating required PYROPANEL hinged firedoorsets are constructed with either a solid or laminated "Pyrolite" or "FR Board" core covered on both sides with plywood facings and finished with timber edge strips. Top and bottom rails are made up of treated pine and an intumescent strip where required.

Perforated steel plates are strategically placed within the door leaf to provide suitable fixing location for hinges, door closers, concealed door closers, floor springs, locks, furniture and panic bars. As a standard we provide for the hinges, a mortice lock with furniture and a standard fire rated doorcloser.

If your ironmongery differs from these standard requirements it is imperative that the ironmongery specifications be provided to PELICAN M.I.S SYSTEMS prior to manufacture to ensure that the correct ironmongery fixing provisions are made in each door leaf.

Hinged doors assemblies are available in single and double door options. Double doors are fitted with anodised aluminium "J" section meeting styles, set flush to the door faces and forming a double lapped joint. Aluminium bull nosed sections incorporating intumescent fire and smoke seals as well as aluminium clad rebated meeting styles are also available.

Fire Rated Double Action, Side Hung Doorsets

PYROPANEL was one of the first to develop a double action fire doorset which is an ideal problem solver where single action doorsets cause functional problems. Fire Rated Sliding Doorsets

(fire rated up to 5 hours)

PYROPANEL sliding doorsets offer a lightweight construction to fire rating ratio and can be built on site thus eliminating many site and transport problems. Facings are constructed from 1.0mm zincanneal sheet steel or 4mm decorative fire retardant plywood. Doors are edged all round by 1.2mm steel U channels to protect the door edges. Double acting fire doorsets are available in single and double options. Door edges are finished with aluminium bull-nosed sections incorporating seals fitted to meeting stiles and hinge stiles. Track systems are selected based on the application requirements and the size and weight of the door leaves.

General

All PYROPANEL fire doorsets are available with Pyroceramic or Georgian wire view panels as per SANS requirements and steel kick plates to various heights where required. All doors are supplied with metal identification tags on the door leaf and frame displaying the doorset number, the date of manufacture, the class/fire rating of the door and the SANS permit number. All doors are manufactured, labeled and supplied in strict accordance with SANS 1253 : 1994.
