Plumbcrazy was started in Cape Town in 1982. As a retailer Plumbcrazy experienced the frustrations and restrictions of buying and trading in the monopolistic plumbing industry. Identifying a rather distinct gap in the market place, the wholesale operation was established to provide a viable alternative source of supply to independent merchants. The retail operations were closed in 1990 and all efforts were directed towards sourcing the right product at the right price - globally.
The wholesale operation, based on its intimate understanding of the problems experienced by the retailer, began to import exciting alternative products to locally manufactured goods. This had the almost immediate effect of putting an end to the annual price hikes of local suppliers and curbing inflation within the industry sector. This tradition continues today as retailers continue to welcome the healthy competition promoted by Plumbcrazy's competitive range of quality products backed by an enviable reputation of service excellence.
