Introduction: Wispeco Aluminium is a leading aluminium extrusion company in South Africa and offers a one-stop-shop in the supply of mill finish, powder coated and anodised aluminium extrusions for various applications in a variety of industries including: Building and Construction, Transport, Energy, Agricultural, General Engineering, Automotive and others.

The company consists of four main operating units Billet Casting, Aluminium Extrusion (with in-house die manufacturing), Surface Finishing and Aluminium Systems Development.

Mission: Wispeco strives to deliver excellent levels of quality, service and responsiveness, price competitiveness and technical support.

Ownership: Wispeco Holdings (Pty) Ltd is a wholly owned subsidiary of Remgro Ltd, listed on the JSE.

BBBEE: Wispeco has achieved a Level 4 rating, which offers 100% recognition as BEE spend. All of the Wispeco divisions and subsidiaries are included in this rating.

Green rating: Wispeco has been assessed through the GreenRate Green Building Scheme and was subsequently awarded EcoSpecifier accreditation on the basis of the large recycled content in its aluminium profiles. The recycling of aluminium requires as little as 5% of the energy to produce primary virgin aluminium.


  1. Wispeco produces aluminium extrusions in compliance with BS EN 755:2008 (Aluminium and aluminium alloys extruded rod/bar, tube and profiles).
  2. Powder coating supplied by Wispeco conforms to the requirements and carries the mark of SANS 1796: 2008 for powder coating of exterior architectural aluminium. Wispeco is an approved applicator for Akzo Nobel and Ferro powder coatings.
  3. Anodised surface treatment performed by Wispeco conforms to the requirements and carries the mark of SANS 999: 2007 for anodising of exterior architectural aluminium.

Capacity: The Company operates 8 extrusion presses, 6 powder coating lines and 3 anodising lines at three different manufacturing sites throughout South Africa, with the manufacturing and distribution capability and capacity to meet market requirements.

Employment: The Wispeco group employs around 1000 people throughout South Africa.

Skills development: Wispeco is registered as a Private Further Education and Training College and has trained more than 200 students in formal aluminium fabrication, supervision and new venture creation learnership qualifications. These students are mostly people from previously disadvantaged communities and include the Disabled. Over the past 5 years, Wispeco has trained more than 1 600 clients of Wispeco mainly form privately owned aluminium fabrication businesses.
