ARMOURSTONE is a toughened safety glass with
an integral, simulated stone finish. It opens a whole
new spectrum of possibilities for the cladding of buildings
- both on the exteriors and interiors.
The standard ARMOURSTONE range includes nine granite
finishes and two marble finishes - extending from the
subtle coffee creams of Boticcino to the dark wood green
of Ubatuba and through a selection of grey, brown, black
and red granites. Each comes with its own subtle colour
emphasis.
NB Virtually any polished stone finish can be
replicated in ARMOURSTONE on minimum order quantities
of 400m2. Where alternative stone matches are required,
six to eight weeks must be allowed for processing and
sample approval prior to production commencing.
ARMOURSTONE can also be supplied in selected patterns
in the DecorVue range. Contact PFG Building Glass for
details.
ARMOURSTONE
is produced by transferring a photo image of the specified
stone finish to the glass. During the toughening process,
in which the glass is subjected to temperatures of up
625 °C, the silica inks which make up the stone image
are fused permanently into the back surface of the glass,
ensuring the integrity of the material and its enduring
colour fastness.
Like
the other toughened glass products manufactured by PFG
Building Glass - Armourplate clear or tinted toughened
safety glass, Armourscreen silk-screened toughened safety
glass, and Armourclad coloured, enamelled toughened
safety glass - ARMOURSTONE provides safety and structural
strength in all its applications, together with the
added aesthetic dimension of a polished stone finish.
Cladding
ARMOURSTONE is ideal for cladding commercial buildings
- office buildings, hotels, leisure and entertainment
resorts, retail complexes - to mention a few. It is
equally applicable to exterior and interior surfaces.
Further specific applications include entrance assemblies
and the overcladding of spandrel panels, or any application
where a highly durable and distinctive finish is required.
Light
Weight
ARMOURSTONE toughened safety glass
is produced in a standard 6 mm thick toughened safety
glass. As such, it is considerably lighter in weight
than many comparable cladding materials. This introduces
cost savings for on-site handling and
installation.
