SolarVue

SOLARVUE offers
the solution where medium solar control is required without a reflective appearance, with the added advantage of a range of colours for the designer to choose from.

The thin deposition of Nickel and Chromium allows for elimination of more than 55% of the solar heat while permitting visible light transmission of more than 45%.

SOLARVUE is a PVB Laminated Safety Glass which in addition to the above solar control benefits eliminates more than 99% of the damaging UV radiation, and can meet various levels of safety, security and noise reduction.

SOLARVUE is available in two densities of coating: High Light (HL) and extra High Light (XHL)

Types Available

Normal strength (NS), High Penetration Resistant (HPR), High Impact (HI)

Suggested Applications

Medium solar energy control
Glare reduction in buildings
Glazed partitions and screens

Product and Design Considerations

To assist in optimising design and specifications, PFG Building Glass offers a range of technical advisory service covering most appropriate product for each application, economy, thermal stability, Building Regulations, guarantees and local and international product standards. For maximum benefit to the project this should ideally commence before working drawings begin.

Edge Working

The edges of all heat absorbing glass should be polished to reduce the possibility of thermal breakage. Contact PFG Building Glass for a detailed Thermal stress calculation.

Environmental influences

Environmental influences The visual appearance of coated glasses is determined not only by the colour of the glass and the coating. It is also influenced by environmental factors such as solar angle, ambient light level and quality, reflections in the glass, and the viewing angle.

The chameleon behaviour of coated glass makes it imperative to assess the true colour and reflectance of the proposed product in the context of an existing building, failing which in a full-scale mock-up, before a final selection is made. PFG Building Glass is available to assist in this process.
