COOLVUE is a glass that meets the growing
demand amongst architects, property owners and occupants
for Natural Daylighting without the heat gain
associated with ordinary clear glass. It differs from
the Solarshield range of heat reflecting laminated glass
in that it can achieve comparable levels of heat reflection,
in a clear or tinted glass, with low visible-reflectivity,
which allows through-vision by day and night. COOLVUE
can also allow more than 70% visible light transmission
while rejecting more than 50% of solar heat.
COOLVUE is manufactured by sandwiching a wavelength-selective
heat rejecting coating between two layers of PVB (polyvinyl
butyral) and glass.
As a laminated safety glass, COOLVUE has the added benefits
of reduced sound transmission, increased safety and
security and up to 99,5% reduction of damaging short-wave
ultraviolet radiation.
Product and design considerations To assist in optimising

a range of technical advisory service covering most
appropriate product for each application, economy, thermal
stability, Building Regulations, guarantees and local
and international product standards. For maximum benefit
to the project this should ideally commence before working
drawings begin. Edge Working The edges of all heat absorbing
glass should be polished to reduce the possibility of
thermal breakage. Contact PFG Building Glass for a detailed
